Upper Oconee Water Planning Region
The Upper Oconee Water Planning Region covers an area of approximately 4,966 square miles in eastern Georgia and includes parts of five major river basins-Oconee, Ogeechee, Altamaha, Ocmulgee, and Savannah. In 2005, an estimated population of 507,124 (5 percent of the State's population), lived in the thirteen counties of the area including Baldwin, Barrow, Clarke, Greene, Hancock, Jackson, Laurens, Morgan, Oconee, Putnam, Walton, Washington, and Wilkinson.
