Suwannee-Satilla Water Planning Region
The Suwannee-Satilla Water Planning Region covers an area of approximately 8,033 square miles in southeastern Georgia and includes parts of six major river basins-Flint, Suwannee, Satilla, Ocmulgee, St. Mary's, and Ochlocknee. In 2005, an estimated population of 378,559 (4 percent of the State's population), lived in the eighteen counties of the area including Atkinson, Bacon, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Cook, Echols, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Pierce, Tift, Turner, and Ware.
