Coosa-North Georgia Water Planning Region
The Coosa-North Georgia Water Planning Region covers an area of approximately 5,500 square miles in northern Georgia and includes parts of five major river basins-Chattahoochee, Coosa, Tennessee, Tallapoosa, and Savannah. In 2005, an estimated population of 699,444 (8 percent of the State's population) lived in the eighteen counties of the area including Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Dawson, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Habersham, Lumpkin, Murray, Pickens, Polk, Towns, Union, Walker, White, and Whitfield.
