Altamaha Water Planning Region
The Altamaha Water Planning Region covers an area of approximately 6,085 square miles in southeastern Georgia and includes parts of six major river basins-Oconee, Altamaha, Ogeechee, Ocmulgee, Suwannee, and Satilla. An estimated population of 239,331 (3 percent of the State's population) lives in the sixteen counties of the area including Appling, Bleckley, Candler, Dodge, Emanuel, Evans, Jeff Davis, Johnson, Montgomery, Tattnall, Telfair, Toombs, Treutlen, Wayne, Wheeler, and Wilcox.
