USGS Open-File Report 00-515
Crystalline-Rock Aquifers
Water levels in the crystalline-rock aquifers were monitored in 20 wells in 1999 and data from seven of these wells are available as PDF files, accessible by clicking on the well number in the map below or from Table 3b. Water levels in wells tapping the crystalline-rock aquifers are affected mainly by precipitation and evapotranspiration, and locally by pumping (Cressler and others, 1983). Precipitation can cause a rapid rise in water levels in wells tapping aquifers overlain by thin regolith.
