Microbial Contamination of Water Resources in the
Chattahoochee National Recreation Area, Georgia

DATA DOWNLOADING

All of our data are available for you to download to your computer. Our downloadable files are formatted as tab-delimited ASCII spreadsheet files, which will allow you to directly import them into spreadsheet progams, such as Excel. When you choose a link below to download data, the data that appears on your browser screen will probably be jumbled. This is normal; just use your browser's "File -->> Save As" menu option to save the file to a text file on your computer. You can then import that file into a spreadsheet program.

The first line of each file contains identifiers which describe each column of data. These identifiers are a single word, as defined below:

Site - USGS downstream site number
Date - Date of sampling
Time - Time of sampling (24 hr time)
GageHeight - Height of the river surface
Discharge - Stream discharge at sampling time
Turbidity - Turbidity, in NTU
FecalColiform - Fecal coliform count, in colonies per 100 milliliters
FecalRem - Remark for Fecal Coliform (-, K, E)
E. coli - E. coli count, in colonies per 100 milliliters
EColiRem - Remark for E. coli (-, K, E)
Enterococci - Enterococci count, colonies per 100 milliliters
EnterRem - Remark for Enterococci (-, K, E)

(For the remark codes, 'K' means a non-ideal count and 'E' means estimated.)
