What's NEW in the Apalachicola, Chattahoochee, and Flint
River Basin study?

Influences of Watershed Land Use on Stream Ecosystem
Structure and Function
The project is a collaborative research investigation between the
University of Georgia and the U.S. Geological Survey, ACF NAWQA Project. The
objectives of the study are to
- Determine the predictive
relations between structural attributes and stream ecosystem
function as measured by rates of carbon and nutrient transport,
uptake, and metabolism.
- Determine if the functional measurements
vary amoung streams undergoing differing stresses.
- Relate structural biological attributes and ecological function,
measured at the scale of the stream reach to attributes of the watershed
such as landuse.
