Special Studies Data
The study design for the ACF River basin study was modified to include
four special studies:
- Surface Water Synoptic Studies - These are land use focus
studies typically
involving many sites located within a targeted landuse area and
sampled in a few days or less. You can view and retrieve
water-quality data collected as part of these synoptics by selecting
the links in the following list:
- Intensive network of synoptic sites within the upper Chattahoochee
and Chestatee River basins, with effects of poultry
production as an emphasis.
- Intensive network of suburban sites within the Sope Creek basin.
- Intensive network of sites within the Atlanta Metropolitian and Columbus
areas, including nineteen sites within the Peachtree Creek basin.
- Reservoirs - Sediment cores were collected from six of the major
reservoirs for the purpose of defining historic changes in sediment quality within each reservoir
and differences between each reservoir.
- Flint River Flooding - Record flooding occured along the Flint River
during July 1994 as a result of rainfall produced by
Tropical Storm Alberto.
- Recovery of fish communities following a catastrophic event
- The record flooding caused by Tropical Storm Alberto provided an
opportunity to document the recovery of fish communities at Lime Creek
following a catastrophic event.
